MAC Matte in Pink Pigeon MAC Pink Pigeon is fun and bright pink lip color that in some lots will appear to be on the neon side of the pink spectrum. This pink is best suited for the cool-toned girls because this color has blue undertones and the finish is a matte but to me, it feels more like a cream finish but after hours of wear, it will. Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube. I get tons of compliments whenever I wear this lipstick so I had to include it on this list. It can work on all tones of desi skin but I prefer it on lighter skin types more. Pink Pigeon (matte) Pink Pigeon is a gorgeousssss pink for desi skintone. Its a cool tone hot pink.
Hello lovelies!
Lipstick is a girl’s second best friend, the first one is smile undoubtedly. With that note on mind, today I am going to write about some pink lipsticks that will complement Indian skin tone. It was an arduous journey to find the right shade of pink that I can flaunt easily without looking eerie. Most of the pink shades that everybody was raving about on internet made me look washed out and pale. But some of them really did a good job to bring out my complexion. Before I dig into my findings let me tell you girls, I am a lipstick lover. I love them so much that every now and then I have to put a checklist on myself not to spend too much on them. Also I am on a constant quest for searching the right shade of pinks, reds and nudes that will add value to my make up vanity. For today’s review I am adding my top 5 pink shades from my lipstick collection.
From Left to Right: Clarins Pink Blossom, Mac Speed dial, Buxom Pink Decoy, Mac Pink Pigeon and Mac Pink Plaid.
Mac Pink Pigeon Lipstick On Indian Skin
Clarins Rouge Eclat lipstick in 25 Pink Blossom:
This is my go to favorite pink shade of all time. This is a warm pink color with a hint of coral in it. Here is a tip, any pink with coral undertone looks fab on warm skin tone. Pink blossom is highly pigmented and only two to three swipes gives you the perfect color. The formula is creamy with a glossy finish. It glides on easily with a high color output. It stays for almost 3-4 hours before it starts to wear off with moderate drinking and eating. It leaves a nice soft stain once it wears off. You have to reapply every 4 hours or after a meal. If you are thinking for some time now to invest in a beautiful pink lip color that can be your next holy grail look no further, you already found one.
Mac Cremesheen Lipstick in shade Speed Dial:
From Left to Right: Speed Dial, Pink Pigeon and Pink Plaid.
As the name itself suggests, this can be an SOS emergency pink shade for anybody. This is a light bluish pink that I absolutely love. This is one of those rare bluish pink lipsticks that I was able to carry on effortlessly. The formula is creamy with high shine. It is highly opaque and gives you the desired amount of color with just two swipes. The staying power again is around 4 hours which I do not mind. Undoubtedly one of the best bluish pink out there for warm skinned beauties.
Mac Matte Lipstick in Pink Pigeon:
This is a very bright pink with a cool tones in it. This is the brightest pink shade among all. I wanted a bright pink shade very badly so I experimented between Mac Candy Yum Yum and this. I was not brave enough to flaunt the neon Candy Yum Yum and settled for this one instead. This will look good on Indian/warm skin tone. This again is highly pigmented and stays for a full 5 hours. If you desire to be experimental with a bright cool toned pink then there is no need to wait.
Mac Matte Lipstick in Pink Plaid:
I am adding this one in my review because your pink shade box is not complete without a nude pink lippie. It is hard for me to find a good nude pink for my skin tone because sometimes they make me look ghostly or sick. This one is a muted nude pink that looks perfect on my skin tone if I pair it up with some bright eye make up. This one is highly opaque and matte, stays on the lips for a good 5 hours before it fades out leaving a stain.
Buxom Bold Gel Lipstick in Pink Decoy Matte:
I tried this one because I got fascinated with the gel lip thing. To be honest I could not decipher the difference between a plain matte lipstick and this gel matte version. But I am in love with this color. This is a hot warm pink shade that compliments my skin tone. This one has a coral undertone in it. The texture is matte but it glides on easily. Maybe the gel part in the lipstick is responsible for the effortless gliding. Highly opaque formula. The staying power is a little higher, around 5-6 hours with moderate drinking and snacking. If you are looking for a warm matte pink with coral undertone then this is it.
Hope you all enjoyed. See you all in my next review.

When it comes to lipsticks I am always obsessed with pink shades, I don’t know why I always end up by buying the same shades from different brands. And here is the example of my stupid obsession..although I have Daddy’s Little Girl, Love Forever from MAC, I was still craving from Pink Pigeon. Pink pigeon is a Limited edition shade from Strength collection. And people like me are mad about LEs. And when it is a bright pink like Pink Pigeon, I guess the shade itself will say everything. Let’s start with my review and swatches.
MAC Claims: Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M.A.C famous. Totally true for this lipstick
Pink Pigeon is a bright pink that might not suit dusky Indian skin tones but will look great on fair to medium skin tones. The shade in bright sunny weather looks awesome. It looks so neon pink on me which I really love. But the shade is such a chameleon..it looks different in different lights. But whatever the shade looks on me in whatever light I just love to see my lips again and again in my hand mirror that I always carry in my handbag! The pigmentation of the lipstick is awesome. A single swipe is enough to get the actual shade of the lipstick.
The finish is matte and the texture is so smooth. I don’t feel any pulling or tugging on my lips while applying the lipstick. As the lipstick is matte so application of lip balm prior to applying the lipstick is suggested for dry lips. And proper exfoliation is must before applying this lipstick else one will end up with flaky lips. The fragnance of the lipstick is the usual vanilla scent that vanishes within few minutes of application thus it is good for people with sensitive nose like me..as I don’t use a lot of my lipsticks due to their fragnance which I can’t tolerate. Anyways coming to the review again!
The staying power of the lipstick is pretty good. It stays for more than 6 hours on me and fades away leaving a nice light pink tint on my lips.
The lipstick although being a limited edition comes in the regular packaging of MAC lipsticks, but the shade always matters more than the packaging. And who wants to spend extra bucks just for the packaging? So I am really happy that the price was not increased for being limited edition.

- Stays for 6 hours approx. on my lips.
The Aaaaahssss of MAC Pink Pigeon Lipstick:
- Availability as its limited edition.
Price: Rs.990
VNA Rating: 4/5
Dupe: Inglot Matte Lipstick 421
My Recommendation: MAC Pink Pigeon Lipstick is a nice bright pink but as it is a limited shade so I guess it is now not available but you can find dupes of this shade in other brands too.
